  • Kyle Broadnax received his Masters degree in Education and Applied Human Development with a concentration on Positive Youth Development (PYD) from Boston University.  Although this was an incredible accomplishment, he knows that his devotion to serving black and brown, marginalized youth has given him the tools, skills and confidence to earn his degree. Kyle's expansive professional experience ranges from working in roles such as youth support specialist at a residential treatment facility where clients were court-ordered to attend treatment, becoming an associate dean of students and school culture at a public charter 6-8 school, and becoming a program manager at a youth-serving nonprofit that provides holistic, wrap-around services to clients. He is also a co-author of an evaluative research study conducted by BU for the Boston Debate League (BDL) that focused on assessing the efficacy and impact of the BDL's Debate-Inspired framework implementation and their Resolved group-- a program for black and brown young men in MS and HS.

Kyle understands that youth are valuable resources to their communities with strengths to be utilized and that they deserve to experience joy and success each day. With a lens of equity and a restorative and PYD approach, Kyle now provides professional development, support, training, and guidance to youth-serving professionals and organizations because he believes that when youth-care workers are culturally humble, caring, trauma-informed, and utilize PYD, they can transform the lives of the young people they serve.

When he is not championing youth and developing skills in others, Kyle enjoys spending time with his wife Christina and their dog, Penny. In his spare time, he also loves to cycle and go on hikes and excursions in state and national parks. In 2022, he became a part of the 1% of people who hiked (and camped for two nights!) from the North rim of the Grand Canyon all the way down to its lowest point, the Colorado River. Kyle brings positive energy, action-oriented thinking, and a can-do attitude, whether he's hiking through the Canyon, or he's helping a youth-serving organization to develop their staff's talent so they can unlock the potential in the youth they serve.

  • Miryam's yoga journey began in 2003 when she sought a gentle and holistic practice to complement her active lifestyle as a competitive swimmer and long-distance triathlete during her pregnancy. Initially, she started with Bikram yoga, but it was Baron Baptiste's Power Vinyasa Yoga that resonated with her the most, becoming her main practice for several years.

In 2009, while maintaining her dedication to competing in Ironman distance triathlons and practicing yoga, Miryam completed her 200-hour Teacher Training at Downdog Yoga in Washington DC. This training provided her with a deeper understanding of yoga and equipped her to share her knowledge with others.

However, it was in 2015 that Miryam's path took a significant turn when she crossed paths with her mentor, Jessica Lazar, and discovered a profound connection with the Prana Vinyasa flow, developed under the guidance of Shiva Rea. Continuing her training, she pursued her 300-hour Teacher Training in Prana Vinyasa, further deepening her understanding and practice.

Currently, Miryam practices and teaches at Bhakti Yoga in Washington DC. She draws inspiration from influential teachers such as Gopi Kinnicutt, Jason Crandell, Tara Brach, and Pema Chodron. Rooted in her life experiences, Miryam's classes emphasize the importance of reconnecting with one's purpose in life.

To Miryam, Prana Vinyasa is a transformative journey towards embodying vitality, enjoying life, flowing with the present moment, finding creative fulfillment, experiencing natural happiness, and forging a deep connection with one's inherent purpose. Through her teachings, Miryam strives to guide others on this path of self-discovery and fulfillment.

Miryam is originally from Lima, Peru, speaks Spanish fluently and has extensively worked with high school children in Prince William County as a swim coach applying the yoga and mindfulness to her coaching.
